Department Summary

The Department of Criminal Justice at Bridgewater State University seeks qualified and committed part-time faculty members for the upcoming academic semester.

We are a dynamic, interdisciplinary department with a strong social justice orientation in both theory and practice. We are committed to excellent teaching, mentoring of students and applied research.

Essential Duties

Teach courses centering around victimology and crime victimization impact on the criminal justice system.

Specific courses may include Courts and the Judicial Process, Corrections, Ethics and the Criminal Justice System and Applied Theory and Crime Policy.

Applicants should possess:
– Ability to effectively teach in a close, collegial environment dedicated to the teaching-learning relationship.
– Strong commit to excellence in teaching and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity.
– Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning.
– Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
– Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the department office as requested.
– Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD preferred.

Teaching experience preferred.
